Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CV Butler website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Undo Solutions Ltd (t/a CV Butler) ("we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account, purchasing a Generation Pack, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

• "Account" means the registered user profile you create to access the Service.
• "Generation" means one use of the Service to produce a tailored or full CV output (typically a PDF and related files) from your career data.
• "Generation Pack" means a prepaid bundle of Generations purchased through the Service.
• "User Content" means career profiles, role history, job specifications, uploaded documents, and other materials you submit to the Service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials and for all activity under your Account. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.

You may not share your Account, transfer your Account to another person, or create an Account on behalf of another person without our written consent.

3. The Service

CV Butler is an online software service that helps you store career information and generate CV documents using automated and AI-assisted tools. We may update, improve, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee that outputs will secure employment or meet the requirements of any particular employer or role.

AI-generated content may contain errors or omissions. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any CV or document before use.

4. Generation Packs

Generation Packs provide prepaid access to a fixed number of Generations on the Service. Unless we state otherwise at the point of purchase:

• Each Generation Pack is tied to your Account and is non-transferable.
• Generation Packs have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, credit with third parties, or goods or services outside the Service.
• Generation Packs are not gift cards, vouchers, or stored-value products and may not be resold.
• Unused Generations expire on the date shown at purchase and in your Account. Expiry periods vary by pack (for example, 90 days or 1 year from purchase).
• When you generate a CV, one Generation is consumed from the pack with the earliest expiry (first-in, first-out).
• Completed CV outputs (PDF, Word, Markdown, and related generation records) are retained in your Account for 180 days after generation. We send an email warning 7 days before automatic deletion. Deletion or expiry of a stored CV does not restore Generations to your pack.
• We may grant promotional or complimentary Generations at our discretion, subject to the same usage rules unless stated otherwise.

5. Fees and payment

Prices are shown in British pounds (GBP) unless otherwise stated and include applicable taxes where we are required to collect them. Payment processing is handled by Stripe or another payment provider we designate. By purchasing a Generation Pack, you authorise us and our payment provider to charge your selected payment method.

We may change prices for future purchases at any time. Price changes do not affect Generation Packs already purchased.

6. Refunds

Generation Packs are digital services delivered on use. Our refund policy is as follows:

• If you have not used any Generations from a pack, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by contacting legal@cvbutler.co.uk.
• If you have used one or more Generations, refunds are limited to the unused portion of the pack, calculated on a pro-rata basis, within the same 14-day window.
• Expired Generations are not refundable.
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method only. We do not refund to account balance, wallet credit, or third-party payment methods.
• Where a refund or payment reversal is processed, we will revoke any remaining unused Generations from the associated pack on your Account (unused Generations are not carried over after a refund).
• Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable law, including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 where it applies to digital content.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
• submit false, misleading, or infringing User Content;
• attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service;
• circumvent usage limits, Generation consumption, or security controls;
• use the Service to generate content that violates third-party rights or applicable law;
• resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted.

We may suspend or terminate your Account if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses risk to the Service, other users, or third parties.

8. Intellectual property

We and our licensors own the Service, software, branding, and documentation. Except for the limited rights granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.

You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, process, and use User Content solely to provide and improve the Service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you own the CV outputs generated for you from your User Content, but we make no warranty that outputs are free from third-party intellectual property claims.

9. Privacy and data protection

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we process personal data as described there.

10. Third-party services

The Service may integrate with third-party providers (including payment processors and AI model providers). Your use of those services may be subject to separate terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, updates, or events beyond our control may cause downtime.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be notified by email or in-product notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that outputs will be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular application. You use outputs at your own risk.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to the above, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising from or related to the Service or these Terms.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or a Generation Pack purchase shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the relevant Generation Pack in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) £50.

14. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct.

15. Termination

You may close your Account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for breach of these Terms or where required by law.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Unused Generations are forfeited on expiry or termination unless refunds are required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

16. General

• Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
• Jurisdiction: The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident in the UK or EEA may also bring claims in their country of residence where mandatory law allows.
• Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement regarding the Service.
• Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
• No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our rights.
• Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
